Web Manifesto
Stargazer7 is a work in progress being developed by a little web dev named Chron who kind of sort of knows what they're doing!
As far as internet homes go, I grew up on DA, but I was unhappy with their updates and predatory use of AI. In search of a new home, I found neocities and started building Stargazer7.
The internet is a big place, and we all deserve to have our own space to grow a garden of joy and interests. But, this land has been burning for a long time. We're constantly moving to greener grasses. Afterall, if you want to grow a garden, its not very wise to grow plants near sparks. The only way to truly gain our own freedom from big corporations that want to sell our data and squash any spec of creativity from our bones is to make our own websites or go offline entirely where those greedy fingers can't reach. But isolation is like a drought for a creative spirit. I don't fancy isolating myself, so I'm going to keep this site online out of spite and determination to exist.
I'm adding this because I considered not making this site because of AI scraping. I decided against it because I value human's taking up space on the internet. I want to exist. I want to create my website and tell my stories and art through it. I want to control that experience and be free from social media. I could lock myself in to other platforms, but i don't want to. I want my work to be archived. When I am nothing but bones, this may be all that my friends or anyone who cares will have of me.
I continued to write an An introspective journal entry on the weird memories I have tied in to making Stargazer7 and learning I liked to code.
